Qualifications
Every Sagua assessment is completed under the responsible charge of a licensed Professional Geologist, satisfying the Environmental Professional definition at 40 CFR 312.10 through current Professional Geologist licensure in Pennsylvania combined with well beyond the three years of relevant experience the rule requires. That definition accepts licensure from any state, tribe, or U.S. territory — it is not tied to the state where a property is located.
Our Environmental Professional holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology and brings nearly two decades of environmental due diligence experience. Since founding Sagua in 2018, that has included more than 1,000 due diligence projects for commercial real estate lenders, investors, property managers, and consulting firms. Earlier work includes service as senior ESA author and quality control reviewer for a nationwide engineering firm, along with senior geologist and project management roles at three national environmental consultancies.
Field inspection and site reconnaissance are conducted by staff holding a Master of Science in Environmental Sustainability, with more than five years dedicated to Phase I ESA fieldwork and over 150 site inspections completed across the New York metropolitan area, Long Island, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
Property experience
Our assessments span manufacturing facilities, shopping centers, gasoline stations, automotive dealerships and repair shops, light industrial properties, multi-building residential complexes, and mixed residential and commercial high-rises — in urban, suburban, and rural settings alike.
Tools and capabilities
We author in Quire at the Level 2 tier and maintain working proficiency with EDR Lightbox regulatory database products and ArcGIS. Site interviews are conducted in English, Spanish, Russian, and German — a practical advantage in dense, multilingual markets, where the completeness of an assessment often turns on who is willing to talk to you.
